All You Need to Know
- June 29 - Registration at St Anthony’s School, Drumheller, commencing at 4 pm.
- June 30 - Late registration if requested.
- July 1-6 - Students are prepared for the opening of the Canadian Badlands Passion Play and launch into an exciting program of studies in performing arts.
The week will end with the first performances of the Canadian Badlands Passion Play, July 6 (6 pm show), July 7 (6 pm show) and July 8 (4 pm show).
Students will prepare for the Student Variety Showcase and Gala Performance night(s).
The week will end with performances of the Canadian Badlands Passion Play, July 13 (6 pm show), July 14 (6 pm show) and July 15 (4 pm show).
This final week will be highlighted with:
- Student Variety Showcase(s)
- Wednesday or Thursday, July 18 / 19 – a visit to Rosebud Theatre to see two shows
- Gala Performance
The week will end with performances of the Canadian Badlands Passion Play, July 20 (6 pm show), July 21 (6 pm show) and July 22 (4 pm show).
Tourism Adventure Days
July 9 & 16 —Experience the Heart of the Canadian Badlands
Alberta students will receive ten high school credits for courses in Advanced Acting 15, 25 or 35 and T.E.A.M. Leadership (from Human and Social Services HSS Occupational Area) 15, 25, 35. Students will spend more than 100 hours developing their performance and theatre skills. In excess of 80 hours will develop peer leadership and mentorship skills. Out-of-province and foreign students must check with their local high school principal and/or School Board superintendent’s office to ensure transferability. Each student successfully completing a course of studies at this Summer School is automatically eligible for an admission scholarship at Rosebud School of the Arts.
Dormitory life and the accompanying recreational, social, and cultural activities are what really make this a memorable summer. St. Anthony’s School turns itself into a giant summer residence. Great meals are served in the cafeteria. Practice and rehearsal space is set aside for the young artists. The School yard and the Town of Drumheller offer recreational opportunities. Dormitory life is supervised by qualified and experienced staff.
- Presently in grade 9, 10, 11, 12 or equivalent
- Two letters of reference from teachers, youth workers, parish priest, minister etc. Letters may be mailed, faxed, or emailed directly from the computer of the referee.

The Canadian Badlands Summer Camp is operated under the auspices of Christ the Redeemer School Division and St. Anthony’s School in partnership arrangements with the Canadian Badlands Passion Play Society, Rosebud School of the Arts and the Town of Drumheller.
Passion Play Involvement
Students wanting to try for larger acting parts in the Passion Play and willing to commit the extra rehearsal time before Summer Camp begins, are encouraged to check the Production Website for information about auditions and the commitment required. You will also find information there about the possibility of raising funds to offset the cost of early involvement.
